The process

The 3 Simple Steps to Weekly Cash Flow

A strategy so simple, a 9-year-old mastered it.

How it all started

A father, a daughter and a simple question.

This journey began when James’s daughter Jacey, at age nine, kept asking him for money. He finally asked, “Why don’t you get a job?” Her answer was, “Daddy, I’m only 9... I can’t get a job.”

She asked what he was doing and whether he could teach her. She wanted to learn, and James wanted to spend more time with his daughter while helping her understand how to make her own money.

It took time to develop a stock-trading approach that a child could understand: simple, risk-aware, profitable and consistent. Along the way, she also learned basic rules about how the stock market works and why it matters.

The foundations

10 Basic Truths About the Stock Market

These are the fundamental principles James shared with his daughter.

  1. 01Don't make it complicated, keep it simple and easy to understand.
  2. 02The stock market as we know it today, got its start in 1602. The first stock certificates were sold, door to door with the promise that the company shared the profits, with their investors. These were called dividends and they changed the world!
  3. 03The price of a company's stock is the public's opinion, the real value is in the cash flow, profit margins and earnings growth, management, and market share, etc.
  4. 04After the 1929 crash, federal securities laws and the SEC were established. Public companies have disclosure requirements, but no company is required to disclose everything.
  5. 05When a company makes money, they share their profits with their shareholders. If you're a shareholder.... you get a Dividend check.
  6. 06Dividend eligibility depends on the ex-dividend date and other company rules. Confirm the dates before making any decision.
  7. 07Stocks only move for one of two reasons... Known events and unknown events.
  8. 08Stock prices can move up, down or sideways. No one can know future price movements with certainty.
  9. 09Don't be greedy, there's plenty of money to go around.
  10. 10No one wins all the time, you will have some losses at some point.

The approach has evolved over time, including the use of options, while its emphasis on simplicity has remained.

The strategy in action

The Strategy in Action

Here is the simple, step-by-step process described in the original guide. Targets are aims, not guarantees.

01

Find Pre-Qualified Dividend Stocks

The source describes a curated list of dividend-paying stocks selected using company and market criteria. Dividend payments can change or stop, and a stock price can fall.

  • Review profitability and dividend history
  • Research the company and current market information
  • Reassess selections over time
  • Remember that selection does not remove risk

Quality selection

⏱️

Systematic timing

02

Buy and Hold for 10 Days Maximum

The original strategy emphasizes short holding periods and a systematic process. It sets a target of 1% per week; actual results can vary widely and losses are possible.

  • Set a plan before entering a trade
  • Consider costs and potential losses
  • Review positions rather than reacting impulsively
  • Only trade within your personal risk tolerance

03

Collect Dividends & Repeat

If a company declares a dividend and you meet its eligibility rules, you may receive a payment. Review your results and make any reinvestment decisions according to your plan.

  • Confirm dividend dates and eligibility
  • Account for fees, taxes and market moves
  • Keep records of decisions and outcomes
  • Scale only at a pace that fits your finances
💰

Consistency over time

Trading involves risk, including loss of principal. There is no guaranteed return, and past performance does not predict future results. This is educational material, not financial advice.
